My parents taught me the value of generosity through their actions. My dad was an avid gardener who found great joy in sharing his harvest, and my mom was an exceptional cook whose kitchen was always open to family, friends, and anyone who needed a meal. Their example showed me that giving doesn't always require wealth, sometimes it simply means sharing what you have with others.

When my boss, Carol Gittinger, invited me to attend a Foundation meeting, I immediately felt a connection to its mission. It was a chance to carry forward the values of service, compassion, and generosity that my parents had modeled throughout my life.

Retired School Board Member

I have been a Great Oaks board member and a Loveland School board member for many years. I have heard testimony at many senior ceremonies of what Great Oaks has done for students. And I have witnessed the reactions of students and families when they learn of the support the Foundation provides before and after graduation.

When I retired, I choose to serve on the Foundation Board because I have seen the value first hand.

I give my time to the Great Oaks Education Foundation because of their ability to help students remove barriers to their education in such a meaningful and fulfilling manner.

We were able to assist a student replace all of their cosmetology supplies after a house fire.  Knowing that we were able to help with meeting some of her basic needs allowed her the ability to focus on passing her state boards.  She and her family could not have been more appreciative!

Great Oaks Education Foundation work is a great way to break barriers of student learning and success.

Parents have been grateful for support in helping students with uniform items, coats in winter and some basic school supplies. We've been able to help students attend the Live Oaks prom, bought a mattress for a student whose family had been able to get a home after a period of homelessness, purchased glasses and even assisted with dental bills after a student had an accident.
